ANREALAGE “INVISIBLE” SPRING/SUMMER 2024
A Revolutionary Fusion of Fashion and Umwelt
In a groundbreaking stride at the intersection of fashion and environment, Kunihiko Morinaga unveils ANREALAGE’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, where beginnings emerge colorless and endings dissolve into vibrant hues. In the world of fashion, there are moments when a designer’s vision transcends the ordinary and delves into the realm of artistry. Kunihiko Morinaga’s Spring Summer 2024 collection, aptly named “Invisible,” is one such transcendent moment. With the grace of a maestro, Morinaga weaves a tapestry of colors, light, and innovation that challenges our perception of reality. His mastery lies not only in the exquisite craftsmanship but also in the profound philosophical narrative woven into every stitch and hue.
The Transcendent Act I: From Invisible to Multicolored Marvels
Leveraging ANVISUAL photochromic technology, translucent PVC garments metamorphose under ultraviolet rays into luminous, multicolored silhouettes. These ethereal creations, reminiscent of colossal couture bubble wrap, are elevated by graphic taped seams in denim, cotton, and Ultrasuede, adding a captivating contrast.
Beneath the PVC ensembles, bodysuits come to life with an intricate pattern of miniature AZ monogram logos, mimicking the adaptability of chromatophore cells in chameleons. Crafted from Fairtrade cotton, developed in collaboration with Toyota Tsusho Inc., they imbue the collection with ecological consciousness.
Completing the ensembles are a line of accessories, including inflatable earrings, bracelets, balaclavas, and gauntlet-style gloves, all fashioned from the same INVISIBLE PVC. Footwear ranges from transparent boots to pristine white 3D-printed flats. The futuristic shield sunglasses, a result of collaboration with X8, exude an unmistakable Sixties allure.
Colors in Flux: A Visual Symphony
Returning to the Umwelt concept, Morinaga orchestrates a play of light to challenge the notion of absolute color perception. Through hyperspectral color control technology by NTT, the collection unfurls a mesmerizing display of shifting hues, demonstrating the phenomenon of “metamerism”.
Garments pulsate with soft, radiant colors, their surfaces akin to the dynamic skin of cephalopods, adapting to varying light sources. Handcraft and technological innovation converge, showcasing sculptural pieces in hand-embroidered photochromic PVC, alongside elegantly tailored ensembles, each a kaleidoscope of chromatic metamorphosis.
The Cycle of Life: A Philosophical Allegory
ANREALAGE’s SS 2024 embodies a profound parable of existence and nonexistence, resonating through every facet of its creation. As colors ebb away, mirroring the transience of all living beings, the invisible and colorless resurface, heralding a future rebirth.
A Sustainable Vision
This season, ANREALAGE pioneers an eco-friendly photochromic PVC, crafted from next-generation phthalate-free plasticizers, ensuring safety without compromising style. This conscientious approach is yet another testament to the brand’s commitment to sustainable fashion.
“Invisible” is more than a collection; it is a symphony of ethereal aesthetics, inviting us to contemplate the delicate dance between existence and nonexistence, leaving an indelible mark on the canvas of fashion history.
