AELIS COUTURE SPRING 2025 COLLECTION

Sofia Crociani ’s newest haute couture collection reimagines the concept of elegance through the lens of impermanence, embracing the beauty of wear and timeworn textures. By intertwining antique textiles with contemporary silhouettes, she crafts a narrative where history and modernity coexist in poetic dissonance.  At the heart of the collection are century-old lace veils and hand-embroidered silks, carefully repurposed yet left with their frayed edges and sun-faded hues intact. Sofia Crociani resists the impulse to restore; instead, she highlights the passage of time as an integral part of the garment’s identity. Each piece tells a story—not of pristine perfection, but of lived experience.

Softly structured tailoring meets deconstructed romance, with floor-length gowns featuring artfully tattered hems and whisper-thin layers of chiffon cascading over the body like remnants of memory. A restrained color palette—charcoal, ivory, and muted rose—echoes aged manuscripts and forgotten heirlooms. Even the menswear adopts this ethereal sensibility, with deconstructed waistcoats, unraveling embroidery, and delicate lace gloves disrupting traditional notions of masculinity.

Crociani’s vision extends beyond commerce; her work is as much about storytelling as it is about couture. The collection’s black-and-white contrasts recalled ink meeting paper—an intentional act of creation and balance. This artistic approach continues beyond the runway, with a featured piece in a collaborative exhibition at the Suzanne Tarasieve Gallery in Paris, on display until March 8.
