JITROIS FALL-WINTER 2025/2026

A visionary in apparel design, Jean-Claude Jitrois conceives of attire as a vehicle for metamorphosis, where clothing grants authority, autonomy, and the ability to reshape one’s persona. For his latest endeavor, the couturier explores dramatic sophistication, blending past eras and filmic narratives with his renowned skill in working with hides. Entitled “The Dress-Up Box” the assemblage extracts ideas from a variety of sources—the clown figure from Picasso, the dreamlike qualities of a classic ballet film, the advanced aesthetic of a science fiction picture, and the fervent narratives of a Spanish director. These inspirations coalesce into a series that explores oppositions, structure, and movement, embodying the dichotomy of power and delicacy.

Jitrois’ celebrated pliable leather continues to be a central element, shaping the physique with exactitude, while leather pieces adorned with needlework gleam like starlight. Polished animal hide adds a modern touch, offset by the airy weightlessness of sheer fabrics. This interaction of surfaces underscores the theme of change—an encouragement to explore diverse facets of oneself through style.

Outlines vary from precisely fitted coats and form-fitting gowns to voluminous utility pants and shaped legwear, each crafted to achieve equilibrium between allure and comfort. The collection’s color scheme amplifies this interaction, with pure ivory, subtle beige, and charcoal grey conveying understated elegance, while Jitrois’ characteristic ebony, rich umber, and dark olive introduce an element of enigma. A vibrant crimson hue injects audacity, contrasted by the subdued richness of golden yellow. With The Dress-Up Box, Jitrois delivers more than mere garments—he constructs an environment where style becomes an instrument for evolution, self-exploration, and the artistry of individual articulation.
