California is one such place. And the images captured by Antonio Lopez and Slim Aarons are timeless. Some of these images inspired the Leonard SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection: Jerry Hall emerging from a cluster of palm trees in a Palm Springs garden; Slim Keith sunbathing on silk cushions; Tony Duquette hosting the cream of Hollywood in his Beverly Hills villa. They bear witness to a certain timeless Californian glamour, brought about by the light, climate, and landscapes of this part of the American Sun Belt. Drawn to these Polaroids taken by a midcentury modern pool or a sun-drenched field of poppies, the heroine of this collection knows she will always find the atmosphere of her dreams here. In many ways, she will savor it more than ever.

SILHOUETTES Flowing, skillfully draped dresses inspired by the wardrobes of actresses from Hollywood’s golden age are mixed with very sheer, poolside-inspired kaftans. Puffy volumes, exaggerated proportions contrast with masculine suits, revisited in a very feminine or more preppy style.

MATERIALS Printed sequins. Almost transparent silk crepon. Raw silk-style twill discreetly hand-embroidered with gold sequins and rhinestones. Cotton jacquard with cricket club-style stripes. Ultra-crunchy cotton poplin. Cotton voile embroidered with pastel summer flowers.

COLORS Romantic tones, like Polaroids overexposed to the sun, pale apricot and sorbet pink. Accents of sea green and sky blue. Fresher shades of acid green and lemon yellow. Touches of pomegranate red like splashes of paint.

PRINTS The palm trees of California’s avenues blend with the weights of the big names in pop art. Red and orange poppies evoke the fields of Antelope Valley in spring. A new water flower design is inspired by the exotic gardens of Tony Duquette’s villa. Finally, a graphic and floral “neo Art Deco” design recalls the “palace” cinemas of the 1930s.
