ROCHAS PARIS SPRING/SUMMER 2024
In a captivating departure from its past, the Rochas Spring Summer 2024 collection emerged as a celebration of femininity and renewed creativity. Stepping into a fresh chapter following the departure of Charles de Vilmorin, the brand embraced a vibrant spirit under the guidance of a creative studio, breathing life into every stitch with a nod to its storied heritage.
The absence of Vilmorin paved the way for a transformation, allowing the collection to pay homage to Rochas’ couture legacy. Playful volumes and vintage fragrance flacon-inspired textures echoed the brand’s roots, establishing a whimsical yet sophisticated tone.
Diverse fabrics took center stage, with cotton, poplin, and denim converging to redefine Rochas’ place in a woman’s daily wardrobe. Fitted blazer jackets adorned with calla flower-shaped brooches and graphic side-pocketed pencil skirts showcased the seamless integration of high fashion into everyday wear.
Marble motifs emerged as a standout theme, adorning a striking yellow minidress and transforming into buttons and 3D appliqués on various pieces. This infusion of whimsy added a delightful charm, signaling a departure from the brand’s past darkness towards a brighter future.
The eveningwear stole the limelight, featuring feather-like sequins and taffeta capes in black and pale jade, elevating the collection to new heights of glamour. Sensual column gowns and corset-inspired ensembles embodied the essence of Rochas’ timeless elegance.
At the heart of this diverse lineup was the bold brushed gold buckle, a vintage treasure cleverly integrated as a distinctive element. With the creative director’s identity still concealed, this emblem stands as a symbol of Rochas’ confident stride into the future, anchoring the collection with a promise of auspicious new beginnings.
