VERONIQUE LEROY SPRING/SUMMER 2025
Véronique Leroy designed a collection tailored to the unpredictable nature of the seasons for Spring 2025, featuring creative and versatile garments. Her distinctive style was clearly reflected in the way she combined different fabrics and forms. The collection included everything from crushed velvet swimwear that doubled as chic bodysuits to cropped rain jackets with balloon-like shapes and oversized hoods. The mix of textures and silhouettes created a unique, flexible wardrobe, ideal for adapting to both changing weather and evolving fashion trends.
One of the highlights of the line was a pair of gabardine trousers with an adjustable waistband, allowing them to be styled either high-waisted for a structured look or worn lower on the hips for a relaxed, casual feel. Cream-colored sporty jersey items, including dresses, cardigans, and crop tops, featured padded hems and necklines, giving them an exaggerated, almost flat appearance. This playful design approach reflected broader trends seen on other runways this season, though Leroy’s interpretation felt particularly fresh. The designs alternated between roomy, voluminous shapes—like jackets with puffed shoulders—and more fitted, streamlined cuts. This contrast added an interesting depth to the overall collection.
Véronique Leroy’s skill with fabric was evident in her denim pieces, which were treated to mimic the bright effect of newly formed rust. This special finish appeared on a zip-up apron skirt and a bodysuit with cap sleeves, injecting an unexpected edginess into the collection. Meanwhile, lightweight knits, gathered with wide elastic bands, created full skirts and a sleeveless top with a gathered neckline, highlighting a sense of flow and comfort. A touch of nostalgia was present in the tweed-like fabrics, recreated in a semi-sheer material. This fabric was used for a playful short suit with a sailor collar, bringing a youthful flair to the otherwise polished collection.
Véronique Leroy’s swimwear was just as innovative as her ready-to-wear pieces. One standout design featured a quirky twinset made from two different bikini tops, paired with high-neck briefs that added a sporty, modern twist. These adaptable swimwear pieces balanced practicality with Leroy’s signature mix of sophistication and eccentricity. Véronique Leroy’s Spring 2025 collection, with its focus on adaptability and inventive material use, was a fashionable tribute to the modern woman who seeks both style and versatility, no matter the weather.
