EENK SS27 COLLECTION-E FOR EVOKE

EENK’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, E for EVOKE, brings back a sensitivity to the romance and beauty that can become overlooked in everyday life. In an era defined by constant change, we can sometimes lose even the simple instinct to recognize and appreciate beauty. Rather than looking toward grand ideals or nostalgia for the past, this collection focuses on the small, immediate forms of beauty found in ordinary moments. A key reference for the season is the sense of freedom and ease that women gained through fashion in the 1920s. Hyemee Lee EENK reinterprets its spirit of freedom, leisure, and self-expression through a contemporary lens – the attitude of dressing to enjoy life and express oneself.

Relaxed silhouettes are softened with knots, ribbons, and corsage details, allowing the garments to move naturally without restricting the body. Fluid dresses and skirts move with a gentle, wave-like rhythm, while shirts and outerwear create the impression of layered pieces. Soft fabrics and refined structures come together to create a relaxed yet distinctly feminine silhouette. To enhance the collection’s romantic mood, a neutral palette is accented with soft mint and dusty pink. Mother-of-pearl buttons and silk fabrics featuring floral patterns add a subtle luminosity, reminiscent of delicate highlights painted in white.

About Hyemee Lee, founder and creative director of EENK
EENK’s story begins — as its name suggests — in the analog world, at Hyemee Lee’s family printing press. Growing up in Seoul, the future designer watched her parents work side by side — as they still do — setting metal type by hand, sorting fonts, handling paper and running the presses. From them, she inherited a lifelong love of the letterforms, of the scent, weight and feel of paper, and of ink settling into the page. She also inherited a conviction that has guided her process ever since: to make something is to inscribe it.

Like the printed page, a well-made garment carries meaning across time. EENK takes its name from the world of Lee’s childhood, its double E borrowed from the letters in her given and family names — at once a tribute to her origins and a statement of intent. Surrounded by words and images, photographs and fashion magazines rather than screens, Lee developed a creative approach that still bears the mark of those early years.

From today’s endless torrent of information, she retains only what moves her. Choosing, editing, curating and dressing with intention are disciplines that shape EENK more than any single influence. So does her experience, gained in the womenswear, menswear and childrenswear studios of Korean and European brands alike. Taken together, they allow EENK to move freely between registers and to resist easy definition.

EENK’s guiding idea is unconventional elegance, one in which the familiar becomes new through a single, unexpected gesture. Masculine tailoring is softened by a feminine detail, such as a scarf. The double-breasted jacket returns like a leitmotif in every collection, an expression of confidence and quiet strength. Lee balances this rigor with handiwork: roses—tied, wrapped or stylized one by one—offer a modern take on a traditional Korean motif and a quiet homage to a favorite song, Édith Piaf’s La Vie en Rose. For Lee, beauty is a form of power.

A LANGUAGE OF LETTERS
The Letter Project is Lee’s tribute to her own history: an ongoing series in which each collection takes its name from a letter of the alphabet and opens a new chapter in EENK’s story. Each letter is an architecture of straight lines and curves, the same union found in the traditional Korean hanbok. EENK’s silhouettes are built in that spirit, with negative space given as much weight as the form itself. From a printing press in Seoul to the runways of Paris Fashion Week, each chapter adds a new line to EENK’s ambition: to become the first truly global Korean fashion house.
